East Village, Manhattan is known for its trendy neighbourhood. It boasts diversity, culture and a vibrant nightlife, and it is an area in Manhattan that represents everything that there is to love about New York. Among this buzzing area lies one of the most compelling spots in town, The Roof @ Public Hotel.
The Roof is elegant yet simple, with ample lounge seating as well as communal outdoor tables, allowing you to mingle with the hip and vibrant crowd. The large outdoor terrace has a great 270° view of the city, starting from downtown all the way towards Central Park. The other 90° can be viewed from the indoor bar, which has floor to ceiling windows, making you feel on top of the world.
I would highly advise you to book in advance for the best seat in the house (click here), but you can still manage a walk-in, just like we did. The crowd was a mix of professionals and tourists, and the energy was buzzing. The chilled house music also contributed to the bar’s electric vibe.
The hotel has great decor, so if you fancy yourself as a bit of a model or selfie addict, then you will certainly love the escalators.
The Roof often hosts music events, all of which can be viewed on the hotel’s website. When you visit The Roof, you will also have a chance to take a peek at the array of eateries at the hotel, as well as a boutique where you can purchase eclectic items ranging from home wear to jewellery. This rooftop terrace is one of the best places that I have been to in Manhattan, and I would highly recommend it as a viewing point of the East Village.
