East London’s Skylight

London, garden, Pop up terrace, rooftop

Even though London is not my actual birth city, it always feels like home when I’m here and I guess thats why I come back time and time again. One of the things that fascinate me about london is the gentrification of certain areas of the city, such as areas within East London.

I recently spoke to you all about Pergola Paddington and Garden society club on Oxford street. On this particular trip to London it’s time to talk about St Katherine’s & Wapping, based in east London. Those who know east London will know it’s where you find the trendiest places to eat and hang out. It’s where most of the city’s skyline is situated, with Canary Wharf and Aldgate all being in close proximity.

Skylight, is a great outdoor garden and open air bar situated on the top of three floors at the Tobacco Dock warehouse. This old warehouse/car park has now become a great hangout for people to enjoy the summer over the weekends watching the sunset and playing a game of croquet. The rooftop hosts enough space for large groups and also has a choice of Greek, American and Brazilian food to enjoy with your pitcher or G&T. If you fancy a change from hanging with the usual crowded bars after work, then I highly suggest making a trip to Skylight.
